Project E - Trailer: Microphone Tests

1. Microphone Wind Check - Sock On, Tele

2. Microphone Wind Check - Sock On, Normal

3.Microphone Wind Check - Sock Off, Tele

4. Microphone Wind Check - Sock Off, Normal

5. Microphone Test - Distance from Microphone

6. Microphone Sound Check - Sock On, Tele

7. Microphone Sound Check - Sock On, Normal

8. Microphone Sound Check - Sock Off, Tele

9. Microphone Sound Check - Sock Off, Normal

Comparing the videos videos, the tele setting was much louder than normal when I blew on the covered microphone, but the volume of normal was a lot quieter than tele. When filming outside I will use the tele setting with two layers of wind protection over the end of the microphone. When filming inside I will not cover the microphone with the setting tele. From the distance test I have found you have to still keep the microphone keep close to the subject I am recording.

Project E - Trailer: Health and Safety Check

Their has been no major issue with filming this trailer as the only action is running down a street and jumping into a bush, this will be shot so the actor invloved won't get hurt by the bush.
When filming we will have all wires taped to the ground so that no one trips over them. The equipment will be moved slowly so that no one trips with the equipment in there hands, if the object is heavy more than one person will carry it so that they will not strain themselves from heavy lifting.

Project E - Trailer: Permission

These are the emails I have sent and received regarding permission to film in a lift.

Thank you for the information, Keefer. 4 is not a problem.
Can you push your start time to 3.30 instead of 3.10, please? There are supervision issues around the lift area at 3.10 with students waiting for the Buses. By 3.30, everything has settled down a bit.
Assuming that is OK for you, then Go Ahead and good luck with the filming.

Regards,
MJ Cook

There will be 4 people in the lift including me, if this is a problem I can have 2 people in the lift at a time?
I was thinking Wednesday the 7th December at the end of the school day, 3:10. It won’t take longer than 45 minutes, is that okay?

Keefer,
We need some more information about this exercise:

How many people are you thinking of using in the lift?
What date are you proposing?
Time of day?
How long will your project take?
Depending on your answers to these questions, you may need supervision…

Director of Logistics

Martin, are you happy for this to take place, Do they need supervising?

Subject: Permission to use the lift

Hello,

I am an A2 student currently taking Media Studies, Miss Dawe told me that I should email you about permission to film in the lift for my project? The idea is about several people who become trapped in a lift, so I will just need to use it for the characters to be sat in and talking to each other.

Thank you,
Keefer Bishop

Project E - Trailer: Character Information

The film will contain 4 main characters, all of them trapped inside the lift. There will be 2 female and 2 male actors, with varying ages. Each character will have 15ish minutes of screen time for each of their stories for being in this lift.
  1. The first male character aged 21, will be the first seen character in the trailer, running through the street with the duffel bag. His background will contain family troubles. Loosing his job when he was 21 and having to pay for a new baby, when in debt he starts to steal small amounts until one big hiest, where he gets caught. This day is his last day before he goes to prison... stuck in a lift.
  2. The second male character aged 17, will be shown in the montage shots of the trailer. His back story will be nothing. He has gone through his life with perfect grades at school going to college. This will be his weak point as he would judge people way too easily and be nieve.
  3. The first female character aged 23, will be shown first in the montage shots of the characters. She will be strong pessimistic, caring and the first one to break down in the lift sceaming to get out. Her background will be the abusive husband, explaining why she's so negative, hiding from him. The story she tells will show her hiding from her husband, till she's defending herself one time and accidently stabbing her husband, him dying in her arms on the kitchen floor.
  4. The second female chacter aged 19, will also be shown in the montage. This character will stay quiet thoughout most of the film, ending up just telling her story how she was abused as a kid growing up with no friends being bullied, so when she changed schools, she reinvented herself, going out every night, doing drugs, bringe drinking and sleeping with everyone. In the lift she realises that this life is not how it should be at the end of the film she leaves the lift and enrolls in college.
