Advertising Campaign – Cinebar: Filming and Editing Update

After receiving the reply permissions from Empire Cinema - Swindon, we have filmed earlier than planned on the 14th of July 2011. This went well we are now editing the footage in iMovie. As well as this I have been learning how to master Final Cut Express, so far I have found that once knowing the keyboard shortcuts editing can be a lot faster with this new software, the software seems a lot more professional than iMovie. This will be used for my next project, to familiarize myself with this new piece of software.

Advertising Campaign - Cinebar: Wrapper Designs

In our group we have decided to create the packaging based on the drawings of the second down on the right hand side of the table. I have used Adobe Photoshop CS5 to put the design together. It will be taped down to the packaging of an existing chocolate product, as this is just a video skills test I didn't feel that I had to create the whole product, just the main logo and packaging (wrapped around the chocolate bar).

Advertising Campaign – Cinebar: Location Shots

Empire Cinema Swindon

This is the area where the whole advert will be filmed.

I have sent emails to Empire Cinema asking whether we would be able to film inside the lobby, these are the emails:

EMPIRE CINEMAS: OTHER - Cinema: Swindon (Green idge)

Hello, My name is Keefer Bishop and I am currently attending St Johns
Sixth Form in Marlborough, Wilts. There I am studying Media Studies and
for one of my project I have been asked to do is to create a chocolate
bar (mainly the idea of it slogan, packaging etc) which I have already
completed but our target audience is Cinema Goers, So I was wondering if
we could film a sale from your retail counter tomorrow (the 14th of
July 2011) at 7pm, it won't take a long time, probably around 10-15
minutes. If it helps anything we have bought tickets for the Harry
Potter films shown that night :). Thank You.

Keefer Bishop

Hi Keefer - I'm afraid we won't be able to help you with this... going
forward in to the release of Harry Potter and the School Holidays we are
going to be too busy to help accommodate your needs.

Apologies

Andrew Fisher

After this response I have then cut the advert down so that the location is outside of the cinema instead of inside. As the advert will be cut down I have decided to give the advert a very rushed feel, like when adverts of 1 minute 30 seconds get cut down to 30 seconds to fit in smaller timeslots.

Advertising Campaign – Cinebar: Change of Slogan and Script

After some careful consideration my group working on this advertising campaign we have chosen to change the script and aim the product more specifically at the chosen target group, cinema goers. By taking out the shots numbered as 23, 24 and 25 from the storyboard and changing the script from:

To simply be:

YOUNG GIRL
Mmmmm.

Pans down to the MYSTERIOUS FIGURE.

MYSTERIOUS FIGURE
Pick up a bar today!

CUT
Black background with the chocolate bar wrapper is displayed, “Head to you retail counter now for your cinebar” written on the background.

VOICE-OVER
The bar for the cinemaaaa!

CUT TO BLACK

'The bar for the cinema' is the new slogan my team feels that this is a much more direct slogan to use.
